Clearwater, Florida — Golden Marine Systems, in partnership with Orion Marine Group, has successfully completed Phase I of the City of Clearwater’s Municipal Marina improvement project, delivering a resilient, modern floating dock system designed to withstand the demanding conditions of Florida’s coastal environment.
Phase I consists of approximately 15,000 square feet of Golden Marine Systems’ Series 950 double-track floating dock system. The Series 950 was selected for its proven performance, structural integrity, and adaptability, particularly in hurricane-prone regions. The system incorporates adjustable cleats, pile guides, and finger piers, allowing for flexible vessel accommodation, enhanced user safety, and efficient marina operations.
Marina access is provided by Golden’s Series 100 aluminum gangways, each measuring 55 feet in length, engineered to meet accessibility requirements while maintaining durability and low maintenance over the long term.
Installation was performed by Orion Marine Group, a nationally recognized marine construction firm, working in close coordination with Golden Marine Systems to ensure precise execution, adherence to project specifications, and timely delivery. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to quality, safety, and long-term performance for municipal waterfront infrastructure.
The floating dock system was specifically chosen for its demonstrated resilience in extreme weather events, including hurricanes, aligning with the City of Clearwater’s focus on investing in infrastructure that enhances reliability, longevity, and public safety.
Phase II of the Municipal Marina improvements is scheduled to begin in Spring 2026 and will include an additional approximately 8,800 square feet of dockage, further expanding the marina’s capacity and modernizing its waterfront facilities.
Golden Marine Systems remains proud to support the City of Clearwater with innovative, hurricane-resilient marina solutions and to partner with industry leaders such as Orion Marine Group on high-profile municipal projects.
