Golden Boat Lifts Debuts Freestanding Hydraulic Model

Martin Flory Group

Driven by consumer demand, Golden Boat Lifts introduces its first freestanding, hydraulic boat lift. The Tornado Boat Lift is ideal for installers and marine contractors that desire the company’s superior quality, but whose customers’ locations lack piles or seawalls, or are in areas where water freezes. Renowned for its coastal solutions, this new model marks Golden’s entry into the inland market and classifies it as a single source supplier.

The Tornado has standard capacities up to 18,000 lbs. with larger upon request. Ideal for dealers that serve a wide range of boat customers, it’s completely adjustable to accommodate deep-V and stepped hulls, deck boats, pontoons and PWC.

The new lift is all about innovation. The Tornado features Golden’s exclusive new Multi Bunk system. This patent-pending design provides optimal, cushioned support, no matter the vessel’s hull configuration, and protects paint and gelcoat. Rubber-capped flat top bunks are available for pontoons.

The hydraulic system boasts Golden’s new, patent-pending Air Bellows, a sleeve-like enclosure that protects the lift’s underwater elements, including its standard 2.5″ or optional 3″ cylinders.

Power comes from the 12V DC pump that’s housed in a lockable fiberglass box with a solar panel to recharge the battery. The lift includes a long-range wireless remote with two transmitters.

The Tornado Boat Lift is built in the USA to the company’s well-known high standards of quality in its ISO 9001:2008 certified manufacturing facility. All non-adjustable elements are welded for maximum strength, including the wear sleeves. Unlike many competing brands, it has no galvanized steel—it’s made from heavy duty 6061 T6 marine-grade aluminum for use in fresh or saltwater—and the H-frame is oversized. Even the pivot pins are overbuilt; they’re hardened stainless steel with Nylatron sleeves. These lifts are made for years of solid, trouble-free use.

Because the lift is freestanding, it’s removable. This is an important selling feature to northern boat owners and a source of seasonal service revenue for installers. It’s also adaptable to a wide variety of bottom conditions, with extra-large bases available when required.

“We’re excited about this introduction,” said Bill Golden, president and CEO. “For years, we’ve had customers ask for hydraulic, freestanding lifts that were better-built than what’s available. We wanted to engineer a product that was worthy of the Golden name and with the Tornado, we nailed it.”
